Reviewed by Israel Drazin - September 7, 2011

This is the third book in the popular Effy series, books with messages that young children will enjoy. The story is clever and the drawings are very appealing. The pages are generally filled with between one and three four-line easy to read and understand rhymes, such as the first:

One chick is black and one's white. Effy is the white chick. They discuss their colors. There are a couple of words that are written in English letters, but are Hebrew: Imma for mother, Mazel Tov for congratulations, and Hashem for God.

Dr. Israel Drazin is the author of seventeen books, including a series of five volumes on the Aramaic translation of the Hebrew Bible, which he co-authors with Dr. Stanley M. Wagner, and a series of four books on the twelfth century philosopher Moses Maimonides. The Orthodox Union (OU) and Yeshiva University publish weekly chapters of Drazin and Wagner's book Let's Study Onkelos on www.ou.org/torah and on www.yutorah@yutorah.org.
