Organized around the weekly Parashah (Torah reading), Rebbetzin Esther Jungreis has compiled an invigorating and inspirational collection of essays written by her sons Rabbi Yisroel and Rabbi Osher Anshel. Rebbetzin Esther Jungreis is the founder of the Hineni Jewish Heritage Foundation, and who, along with other members of her family, including Rabbis Yisroel and Osher Anshel, have help thousands of Jews to rediscover their roots and to embrace Torah-centric Judaism.

The essays in Torah for Your Table are short, and to the point. They are enlivened by the personal experiences of the writers and they serve to not only to explore the various Parshiyos, but also to examine contemporary issues ranging from antisemitism and parenting issues to how to use the teachings found in the Torah to change our own lives for the better. While this is a book that can be read or studied alone, it is designed to be read at the Shabbos table. Shabbos (the Sabbath) is a time for family, for study, and for introspection. It is also a time to come closer to HaShem and the world around you. By reading these essays at the Shabbos table, they will not only enliven your appreciation of Shabbos, but they will also help to engage the listeners in conversation and to see contemporary issues through the spectrum of the Torah.

Torah for Your Table is an exquisite book that will enhance you understanding of Judaism, whether you are new to the study of the Torah, or have been immersed in the Torah for your entire life. Covering the Torah from Bereishis (Genesis) through Devarim (Deuteronomy), Torah for Your Table is an ideal book for family readings and for independent study by readers of all ages and all levels of learning. I highly recommend this book for both home and school libraries.
