Dog Trouble! is a compilation of the first three books from Galia Oz's beloved Shakshuka series. The daughter of Amos Oz, Galia is a well-known Israeli writer, in her own right, as well as a respected film director and screenwriter. All her books were written in, and published, in Hebrew. Many of the books in the Shakshuka series have since been translated into English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese.

The series, written for middle grade readers, follows the adventures of Julia and her friends as they deal with the difficulties navigating the transition from childhood to teenagerhood. Julia's dog, Shakshuka, is the impetuous of many of the 'troubles' that Julia and her friends have to deal with.
