The Weinberg Foundation large type edition of the Artscroll Sabbath and Festivals Siddur is a large print Shabbos prayer book that is noted by the large, crisp, black font used throughout the text, as well as by its layout. The font size does vary somewhat throughout the text, with subject headers, titles, and other important navigational markers printed in larger sized, or bolder lettering than the main text, while some instructions are in a slightly smaller font size than the main text. This Siddur was designed specifically for use by individuals who are visually impaired. This large print Sabbath and Festival Siddur features the prayers in vowelized Hebrew with English translations of the prayers on the facing pages. Throughout, concise instructions, in English, are provided. In addition, the Siddur is enhanced by the inclusion of brief commentaries on the text.
The Weinberg Foundation large type edition of the Artscroll Sabbath and Festivals Siddur follows the Nusach Ashkenaz order of prayers, and as such it is organized similarly to the standard print edition of comparable Siddurim. The main difference between the large print edition and standard print editions of comparable Artscroll prayer books is that this one features large type, a specially designed layout, and abbreviated commentaries compared to those found in standard print editions of Artscroll prayer books. As well, the text was restructured to meet the need of creating a manageable sized Siddur. To this end, the page's measure 7" x 10", and the prayer book, which contains more than 1150 pages, weighs just a tad over four pounds.
In addition to the Weinberg Foundation large type edition of the Artscroll Sabbath and Festivals Siddur, the ArtScroll Mesorah Series also includes the Weinberg Foundation large type edition of the Artscroll Weekday Siddur. Combined, these two large print Siddurim offer members of the Jewish community who are visually impaired and require or prefer a large print prayer book, unparalleled access to two authoritative and practical prayer books.
